THE DIMENSIONS AND INDICATORS OF LIFE QUALITY IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH PSYCHOSIS
ABSTRACT:
Social networking, school efficiency and even school attendance impairement substantially forego the first acute psychotic episode and continue mostly in periods of remission. The apparition of severe psychiatric disorder in the process of neuro-development, during school training, when there are very demanding tasks brings additional risks, compared with adult onset. Modern therapeutic approaches involve a multimodal intervention type (drug treatment and psychosocial interventions) aimed at both remission of psychotic episodes and slowing their frequency, and school reintegration and increase life quality in children and adolescents with psychosis.
Also, antipsychotic medication should be chosen according to the new standards taking into account the concept of extended
performance, taking into account all important aspects the patients life and not just psychotic symptoms.
Not yet a consensus on the extent and life quality indicators for children and adolescents with psychosis and no clear evidence
of the effectiveness of current treatments from this perspective but current efforts are directed towards the elucidation of these
issues.
