BENIGN PARTIAL EPILEPSY OF CHILDREN – DEFINITION AND BORDERING, NEWS AND CONTROVERSY
ABSTRACT:
Establishing clear criteria in definition of seizures and epileptic syndromes represent one of the priorities for the epileptologists, especially for those from the Commissions of ILAE. Partial/focal benign epilepsies in childhood represents, beside other epileptic syndromes, a group with controversies related with a clear syndrome definition in the aspect of the existent clinical and electroencephalographic data, possible related etiological data and existent criteria of the classification. We will review terms used and new proposed terms for the classification of these syndromes.
