COPING MEHCANISMS AND PARENTAL PERCEPTION IN CHILDREN’S FAMILIES WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDER
ABSTRACT:
The aim of this paper is to present the result of a study regarding the identification of copying mechanisms that are used by the parents of ASD versus ADHD children and the parental perception in those families regarding the child symptoms, together with some situational aspects (level of stress) and personality factors (locus of control) – all these being factors that can influence the coping style, but also the perception of the parent towards the child. The systemic aproach of the family having a child with developmental disorder suppose a deep understanding of the dinamic, functioning and adjustment of parents at the condition of their child.
